JasonPlus Productions Announces World Premiere of Arrangements, an Interactive Musical Inspired by George Michael — Run Postponed, New Dates TBA
CHARLOTTE, NC — JasonPlus Productions announced the world premiere of ARRANGEMENTS, a bold new interactive musical set inside a queer nightclub where the audience votes to decide what happens next. Originally planned for August 2026 at Free Range Brewery in Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood, the run has been postponed; new performance dates will be announced when confirmed.
Written and directed by Jason Hackner, Arrangements unfolds over one charged night in a bar built by a man who died before he could see what it became. His sister runs it. His daughter tends bar. His best friend — the one who disappeared — is back. As relationships fracture and old wounds reopen, the community in the room is asked to choose the path forward.
Inspired by the music and legacy of George Michael, the production blends live band performance, immersive storytelling, and participatory theatre. A five-piece band performs throughout the evening in an intimate 150-seat venue designed to feel like a real night out — cocktails included.
"This show is about the arrangements we make — about love, loyalty, grief, and who gets to stay," said Jason Hackner, creator of Arrangements. "Putting the audience in the room with these characters, at this moment, is the whole point. We're building theatre that trusts the community in the seats."
Arrangements features a Charlotte-based creative team and cast of seven performers. JasonPlus Productions develops community-rooted theatre that pays artists fairly and centers audience engagement.
